How to choose electric butterfly valve?

Butterfly valves are widely used in various industrial conditions due to their own advantages and characteristics. With the assistance of electric actuators, the development of butterfly valves has reached a new level.

Applications of electric butterfly valve:     

Electric butterfly valves are widely used not only in petroleum, gas, chemical industry, water treatment and other general industries, but also in the cooling water system of thermal power stations. It is suitable for the HVAC and refrigeration industries, but can also be used in industrial fields, general services and water treatment systems.

Commonly used butterfly valves include wafer butterfly valves and flange butterfly valves. Wafer-type butterfly valves use studs to connect the valve between two pipe flanges. Flange-type butterfly valves have flanges on the valve, and bolts are used to connect the two ends of the valve.

Butterfly valve, also called a flap valve, is a regulating valve with a simple structure. Its main function is to cut off the flow of the medium in the pipeline or adjust the flow rate of the medium in the pipeline. Secondly, butterfly valves can also be used to control the flow of various fluids such as air, water, steam, corrosive media, mud, oil, liquid metal, and radioactive media.

In addition, the butterfly valve should be installed on a completely sealed pipeline with zero gas test leakage. It mainly plays the role of cutting and throttling on pipelines. The opening and closing part of the butterfly valve is a disc-shaped butterfly plate that rotates around its axis in the valve body. The rotation angle is between 0° and 90°. When rotated to 90°, the valve is fully open. To achieve the purpose of opening and closing or adjustment. The thickness of the butterfly plate is the resistance when the medium flows through the valve body, so it has better flow control characteristics. For elastic sealing valves, the sealing ring can be embedded in the valve body or attached to the periphery of the butterfly plate.

The working power supply of electric butterfly valve:

Usually there are: AC220V, AC110V, AC24V, AC380V, DC12V, DC24V, DC110V, etc. Input signal: 4~20mA, 0~10V, 1-5V and other weak current signals. It receives the 4~20mA signal from the industrial automation control system to accurately control the valve opening, thereby achieving the regulation and control of different process parameters such as flow, temperature, and pressure. It is widely used in industrial process automatic control systems in food, environmental protection, light industry, petroleum, chemical industry, water treatment, municipal engineering, papermaking, electric power, water treatment and other industries.

Electric Butterfly Valves

Features of electric butterfly valve:

① The butterfly valve opens and closes quickly, saves effort, has small fluid resistance, and can be operated frequently.

② Butterfly valve has simple structure, small size and light weight.

③ The electric butterfly valve can transport mud and minimize the accumulation of liquid at the pipe mouth.

④ The electric butterfly valve can achieve good sealing under low pressure.

⑤ The electric butterfly valve has good adjustment performance.

Installation of electric butterfly valve:

① During installation, the valve disc should stop in the closed position.

② The opening position should be determined according to the rotation angle of the butterfly plate.

③ For electric butterfly valves with a bypass valve, the bypass valve should be opened before opening.

④ Installation should be carried out according to the manufacturer’s installation instructions. Butterfly valves with heavy weight should be installed on a solid foundation.

Inspect and clean electric butterfly valves and pipes:

Before installation, be sure to ensure that the inside of the electric butterfly valve and pipes are clean and free of any impurities.

① Use a cleaning cloth to gently wipe the inside of the valve and pipe to remove any residue.

② At the same time, carefully check whether all parts of the electric butterfly valve are intact. If any damaged parts are found, they should be replaced in time to ensure the normal operation of the electric butterfly valve.

Cut the pipe

① Use a pipe cutter to cut the pipe to the appropriate length, ensuring that the cutting surface is flat and free of burrs.

② After cutting is completed, use a cleaning cloth to wipe the cutting surface clean again to ensure that impurities will not cause loose sealing during installation.

Place the electric butterfly valve on the pipe and ensure that the flow direction mark of the electric butterfly valve is consistent with the fluid flow direction of the pipe.

① This is very important because the wrong flow direction may cause the electric butterfly valve to not work properly. Then, use a wrench to tighten the electric butterfly valve to the pipe, making sure the connection is secure.

②If the electric butterfly valve needs to be sealed, please apply an appropriate amount of lubricant on the sealing ring, which will help reduce friction and improve the sealing effect. After placing the seal in the correct position, double-check that it is a tight fit against the pipe to prevent fluid leakage.

After the installation is completed, we need to test and adjust the electric butterfly valve

① First, open the pipeline system and observe whether the electric butterfly valve is working normally and whether there is leakage. If there is a problem, the system should be shut down in time and the electric butterfly valve should be adjusted.

② When adjusting, you can check whether the sealing ring is installed correctly and whether there are impurities that affect the sealing effect.

③ At the same time, you can also check whether the various parts of the electric butterfly valve are tight and whether they are loose.

Through careful testing and adjustment, ensure that the installation quality of the electric butterfly valve meets the requirements.
